With almost all items now legendary, you will no longer find yourself in a situation where your stats are too good for an item. This also ensures you can play with a variety of playing styles at every power level.
If you are not interested in the statistics behind the armor, we recommend that you use automatic equipment. Just open the armor menu and hold down the left stick if you’re using a controller. You can do the same in the weapons menu.
4) Unlock Weapon Perks
From the start of the game, you will have two weapons: the Leviathan Ax and the Blades of Chaos. We recommend that you switch between the two. For example, axes are good for one-on-one combat, while blades are better for group combat.

Once they are in your inventory, they will continue to count towards your 100% status on the menu even after you sell them. You can also trade these items to the blacksmith for silver, which you can use to upgrade your weapons and armor.
6) Combat Tips
Now we come to our core elements God of War Ragnarök tips and tricks. After all, combat is the core element of this game. Let’s start with your son. Although Atreus seems insignificant in the fight, he is a helpful companion. Once he can shoot arrows, you should use him in battle. As the game progresses, his skills in using the bow will improve.

During battle, watch out for the red rings. This indicates that an attack cannot be blocked or parried. If you are hit by one of these, it can trigger Burn, Bifröst, or Poison. All three have a negative effect on your HP bar. So, dodge in time to avoid status effects.
Meanwhile, for blocks and counters, Kratos uses his shield. If it’s a yellow circle, you have a small window to block the attack without taking damage. If it is a blue circle, you must successfully complete two blocks.
7) Look for the Yggdrasil Rope
If you played the prequel, you’ll remember the blue droplets hanging from the trees above the water. Tell your son to take it from the canoe. Each drop of a Yggdrasil Rope will give you +2 to one of your stats.
8) How to Get Skills
Both Kratos and Atreus have their own skill trees in the menu. When you fight and defeat the enemy God of War RagnarökYou will earn experience points to invest in your skill tree. You will also find small tasks in the skills menu that will give you additional experience points for using your newly acquired skills.

Sometimes, you only need to use the skill a few times, and sometimes, you have to kill the enemy in a certain way.
9) Stop by Niflheim
Go to Niflheim from time to time and visit the Raven Tree. As in the prequel, there is a furry Odin spy in Ragnarök that you must find and collect furs from. The more you collect, the more prize chests you will open under the Raven Tree God of War Ragnarök.

You can recognize the tree itself by the branches that mark its trunk. If you find 48 crows in the game, a special surprise awaits you in Niflheim.
10) Ax vs. Ax Knife
You should use both starting weapons alternately, depending on the situation. The blade has a wide reach. This allows you to hit multiple enemies at once. If you are outnumbered, you should use it. You can equip it with the Burn status effect to increase its effectiveness.

Leviathan Ax is a weapon that delivers strong and targeted blows. Use it to deal a lot of damage to bosses, mini-bosses and other single opponents. You can enhance it with the Frost status effect. However, if you face an enemy who seems immune to axes, it’s best to use your sword’s fire.
11) Draugr Holes Work for You
In many areas in God of War RagnarökYou will find a glowing hole in the ground. An evil mini-boss jumps out of the Draugr’s hole. Fighting them is optional, but we recommend killing the monsters.

If you’re not ready, move on and come back later. New blacksmith materials or weapon upgrades await you as a reward for killing them.
12) Look for sparkling water
It’s not just blue Yggdrasil rope that can be found in the waters. You can also collect floating barrels and other loot. If you see a light on the surface of the water, you can order your child to retrieve the loot. Sometimes, you’ll get new crafting materials, but sometimes, you’ll get other upgrades.
